On 30th March (16:00 at Stadthaus Ulm), the award-winning Professor, Emmanuelle Charpentier, will deliver a lecture. The Director of the Max-Planck Institute for Infection Biology in Berlin, contributed significantly to the development of the ´Gene scissors´ Crispr-Cas9. With these scissors, the genotype of an organism can be modified more precisely, bringing a glimmer of hope in the treatment of hereditary diseases. For many years, Charpentier, who will deliver her speech in English, is known as a noble prize winner.
Futher lectures will be held by the leading cancer researcher Professor Robert A. Weinberg of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology ( on the 19 thof May, 6 p.m. ,Stadthaus Ulm) and the behavior biologist Professor Bernd Hölldobler, who researches at the Arizona State University ( 1st of June, 6 p.m., Stadthaus Ulm)
