Ulm is one of the top 10 cities

2. June 2016

“This is not a statement for taking a rest, but an inducement to make an effort.” With these words, the Mayor of the City of Ulm Gunter Czisch commented what has become a matter of course for the city for many years: Ulm has been once again ranked as one of the regions with the best future prospects. The new 2016 edition of the “Zukunftsatlas” (Atlas of the Future) ranking conducted every three years by the Prognos Institute has been released.

The Prognos experts have placed Ulm at position 17 out of 402 districts and cities of Germany, which is one rank higher compared to the survey of 2013. The administrative district of Neu-Ulm has improved its ranking by 16 positions and is placed 84th among all German districts and cities thus leaving the neighbouring administrative districts of Günzburg (102th), Unterallgäu (115th) and Augsburg (120th) behind. The Alb-Donau district has been ranked 159th in the study. Its 11th position in the category “Prosperity and social situation” reveals a good state of things here. Ulm´s ratings are even better if considering only the cities. It has been placed 10th among all German cities.

“We are determined to continue our efforts to promote the attractiveness and innovation”, says Gunter Czisch. As the head of the city, he sees himself in the same boot with the City Council, representatives of the science and local businesses as well as trade unions.
