Regional victories "Jugend forscht" and "Schüler experimentieren" awarded
The 17th round of the youth research regional competition in the Ulm innovation region was also very gratifying for schools in Ulm and the Alb-Donau district, as well as for the local student research center with six regional victories.
The Ulm innovation region has been organizing and funding the regional competition for 17 years now. Its first chairman, Ulm’s mayor Gunter Czisch, was impressed by the diversity of the research projects during the tour and the award ceremony. In his speech, he thanked everyone involved – the young people, their supervisors, schools, parents, and long-time competition manager Jochen Krüger and the jury – for their efforts.

17th regional competition of the Ulm innovation region
With a total of 52 projects, 104 children and young people from the region have registered for the current round of “Jugend forscht”. At the regional competition in the Ulm innovation region, you will determine the winning teams in seven specialist areas.
The 55th round of Germany’s best-known youth competition is themed “You can do it!”. Nationwide, it motivated over 11,700 young talents to develop a research project themselves and to register with youth research. With its ten regional competitions, Baden-Württemberg is in third place nationwide with 1436 participants.
The Ulm innovation region is organizing the regional youth research competition for the 17th time. It will take place on February 14 and 15, 2020, and on the second day of the competition there will also be an opportunity for the interested public to take a look at the research projects in the Donauhalle Ulm (Saturday, February 15, from 10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.).
