For the sixth time in a row: Municipality awarded the TOTAL E-QUALITY distinction

10. November 2021

Once again, the city of Ulm has been awarded the TOTAL E-QUALITY distinction for equal opportunities and diversity in the workplace. With this sixth award in a row, Ulm demonstrates its continuously strong commitment to equal opportunities.

First Mayor Martin Bendel was very pleased about the confirmation of the city’s commitment: “The award of the TOTAL E-QUALITY rating confirms the commitment of the administration to anchoring the topics of equal opportunities and diversity. The City of Ulm has sent strong signals, especially by signing the Diversity Charter and establishing the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Unit last year.”

“In these extraordinary times, it is all the more important to pursue the ideal of equal opportunities with a view to all the different individual characteristics of people,” said Eva Maria Roer, Chair of the Board of TOTAL E-QUALITY. “Because diversity is always an asset – also and especially in situations that challenge us to think of new ideas and go new ways. Crises are always opportunities for sustainable change. Our award winners are outstanding examples of an opportunity-oriented human resources policy that is geared to the challenges of the present and the future.” The city of Ulm was one of 60 organisations from business, science, administration and associations to receive the award for its future-oriented, successful and sustainable human resources policy.

The jury also positively highlighted measures in the field of “Leading in Part-Time”, the steady continuation of the employer branding project and the anchoring of the topics “Gender Mainstreaming” and “Intercultural Competence” in the city’s training series. Last but not least, the jury praised the improved compatibility of work and family through the efforts to expand opportunities in the area of mobile working.

The TOTAL E-QUALITY award is granted annually. The award is valid for three years and is the result of an extensive application process. Further information on the TOTAL E-QUALITY award can be found at www.total-e-quality.de.
