HNU graduate honored with Bavarian Culture Prize

17. November 2023

How can digital technology trends contribute to the implementation of sustainable corporate goals? Master’s graduate Lara Maslowski from Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) addressed precisely this question in her Master’s thesis and received the Bavarian Culture Award from Bayerwerk AG for her work on November 16.

Technology meets sustainability: HNU alumna Lara Maslowski from Senden was honored for her master’s thesis in the International Corporate Communications and Media Management (M.A.) program. Her thesis deals with the influence of digital technologies on sustainable corporate goals. She developed a matrix with which companies can quickly and easily assess the extent to which a new technology affects sustainability goals.

In addition to Lara Maslowski, 32 other graduates from Bavarian colleges, art colleges and universities received the prize in the science category. The Bavarian Minister of Arts and Science, Markus Blume, emphasized: “33 new stars in the Bavarian research sky: the prizewinners enliven our science location with their wealth of ideas. This shows that our universities are hotbeds of talent and innovation. I wish all graduates the very best for their future careers. Keep up the good work – you are the future of our country!”

The Bavarian Culture Prize is awarded by Bayernwerk in partnership with the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and Culture. The prizes in the science category are each honored with 2,000 euros and a bronze “Gedankenblitz” statue sculpted by Schwandorf sculptor Peter Mayer.

The Bavarian Culture Prize is intended to be a stage for the arts and sciences in Bavaria. In addition to the award ceremony, the live performances by pianists Leatitia & Philip Hahn, cabaret artist Christl Sittenauer, artist LOI and musician Kamrad provided a well-rounded entertainment program and made the event a special evening, which was also broadcast on local television and streamed. Nina Sonnenberg hosted the event.
