The Jazz Days will open on Friday 9th October at the Lindenhalle with Pim Toscani´s Jazz All Stars. Their varied Dixieland and swing programme is full of musical surprises. Another highlight of the evening will be the Veterinary Street Jazz Band.
The Ference und Magnus Mehl Quartett will perform on Saturday 10th October. The four skilled jazz musicians will present their own upbeat compositions and soulful ballads. The climax of this year’s Ehingen Jazz Days will be a performance by Stanley Clarke, one of the greatest artists of the jazz scene. The four-time Grammy Award winner is considered a living legend. During his 45-year career, he has performed together with numerous jazz stars. Stanley Clarke will be accompanied by three young musicians: Beka Gochiashvilli (piano), Cameron Graves (keyboards) and Michael Mitchell (drums).
The performance in the Lindenhalle will be followed by further highlights taking place at four venues in Ehingen. At Brauereigasthof Schwanen: Helmut Dolds Dixie Quartet; at Weinstube Denkinger: Al Jovo & Lea; at Gasthof zum Ochsen: Triano Gyptano and at Brasserie Amadeus, Friday: Fast Eddy’s Blue Band, Saturday: Dr. Blues.
The 27th Ehingen Jazz Days will end on Sunday 11th October with a jazz service in the Evangelical Church church. The famous jazz vocalist Siyou Isabelle Ngnoubamdjum will perform, accompanied by Joe Fessele on piano. A jazz performance by Ehingen Music School’s saxophone quartet at the Gasthof zum Ochsen at 12:30 will mark the closing of the Ehingen Jazz Days. During the Jazz Days, an exhibition by the art group IRIS will also take place in the Kleiner Saal in the Lindenhalle.
