Encounter Days Ulm/Neu-Ulm

28. September 2016

“Cosmopolitan attitudes and internationalism have long been self-evident in Ulm and Neu-Ulm. Only a society which finds its unity in diversity will have a future in our globalized world.” These words by the both mayors introduce the diverse programme of the Encounter Days. Refugees, reasons to flee and living together in the new home are the main topics of many events. Furthermore, the view beyond the horizon will reach Papua New Guinea.

On the occasion of the Refugee Day, two big events will provide an opportunity to look into the fate of refugees on 30 September. An original UN refugee tent at the Petrusplatz will be a venue for activities from 1 pm to 4 pm. Afterwards, refugees will tell of their experiences in the form of impressive short texts and dance scenes from the project “Before I die …” at 5 pm at the Haus der Begegnung in Ulm. In addition, the Mayor Gunter Czisch will illustrate the principles of the city asylum policy.

The detailed programme of the Encounter Days Ulm/Neu-Ulm is available here.
