On Sunday, September 8th, the Day of the Open Monument will take place throughout Germany under the motto "Modern (e): Breakthroughs in Art and Architecture". This year Ulm is the host city – chosen by the German Foundation for Monument Protection – and invites to the grand opening ceremony. With more than 110 events in total, the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments at the Stuttgart Regional Council, the City of Ulm and the German Foundation for Monument Protection have put together a comprehensive program in Ulm for this occasion.
There are also numerous events in the area of the Ulm Innovation Region – in Neu-Ulm, in the Alb-Donau district and in the Neu-Ulm district.

From east to west, from north to south – Thousands of monuments open on the 8th of September. The Day of the Open Monument, coordinated nationwide by the Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalsschutz, is Germany’s largest cultural event and invites you to spend a day experiencing our cultural heritage.
