The city of Neu-Ulm is looking for committed men and women with a migration background / Applications are now open.

The city of Neu-Ulm is looking for new members for its International Advisory Board for the current legislative period. In recent months, several members of the advisory board have unfortunately had to give up their work for private reasons. Therefore, a total of eleven positions are now to be filled. They are looking for people from Neu-Ulm with a migration background who, together with advisory members from the city council, would like to get involved in their city and for their city as well as for a good coexistence of cultures.

The International Advisory Council of the City of Neu-Ulm was established in 2014. It goes back to the Foreigners’ or Integration Advisory Council from 1978 and is intended to represent a spectrum of Neu-Ulm’s international residents. It advises the city council and the administration on all issues related to migration and integration. The members of the advisory board work on a voluntary basis. The committee meets at least four times a year and can also form thematic working groups if necessary.

The current legislative period runs until September 2026. Applications are open to people with a migration background who have reached the age of 18, have had their main residence in Neu-Ulm for at least three months and who would like to actively support a colourful urban society. Furthermore, expertise in the areas of “migration and integration” is desired. Ideally, these can be proven through full-time activities or voluntary commitment. “We are looking for men and women for whom “diversity” is not a foreign word and are particularly looking forward to applications from people from all areas of society, with different world views and of all ages. Of course, multilingual applicants are also very welcome,” says Ildiko Dienel from the municipal coordination office Intercultural Neu-Ulm.
