“MeetMe” schedules meetings automatically: the users connect their calendars with each other and select all the participants they want to join their meeting. The rest is done by the software. It searches for an appropriate meeting time and sends an invitation to every participant. The search can be limited by defining a time period or a time of day. The web application offers many advantages compared to the existing meeting planners: the users don´t need to put their free time slots in an extra program. “MeetMe” makes scheduling meetings with more than a few people easier and is therefore interesting to companies.
High security standards were important for the developers, five Master of Advanced Management students at the Neu-Ulm University, and led them finally to victory in the international SCORE contest. “While programming and encoding, we made sure that all the data, especially personal data, is secured in compliance with the Federal data protection act”, says Ronald Robertson, one of the developers.
Ronald Robertson together with Danny Friedrich, Manuel Gollmann, Natascha Kania and Malte Kloß presented the web application “MeetMe” at the International Conference on Software Engineering in Austin, Texas. Three teams were invited to this conference to present their projects in the finals of the Student Contest on Software Engineering. “About 30 student teams from all over the world participated in the contest. Our students have stood up to competitors representing large and famous universities”, says Dr. Philipp Brune, professor of the Advanced Management Master’s degree programme and project supervisor at the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences.
It is not yet clear how the development of “MeetMe” will be continued. “You cannot download our web application at the moment. However there were some investors at the conference who were interested in the “MeetMe” release”, says Ronald Robertson.
