Firefighting

Magirus is one of the largest and technologically leading suppliers of firefighting vehicles worldwide. In terms of aerial ladders the traditional brand Magirus is the global market leader.
The tradition of Magirus dates back to the year 1864, when Conrad Dietrich Magirus started
manufacturing of firefighting equipment in Ulm. 1872 Magirus presented the famous “Ulmer ladder”.
During his lifetime Magirus products won 50 gold, silver and bronze medals.
Today Magirus has covers the complete range of firefighting vehicles: aerial ladders, fire trucks, airport fire vehicles, logistics and transport vehicles as well as special solutions.
Magirus employs approximately 1,000 employees at the headquarter in Ulm. About 770 of them work in manufacturing, the proportion of workers with special skills is about 90 percent. Among the approximately 230 employees, the share of engineers and technicians is very high.
In Ulm, the main processes of the company are bundled in the “Excellence Center for Firefighting”.
Additionally Magirus has access to a worldwide network of know-how, since Magirus is part of the CNH Industrial group. With approximately 64,000 employees and nearly 22 billion euros in sales the CNH Industrial group is one of the largest companies in the capital goods sector. Through its brands, the company designs, produces and sells trucks, commercial vehicles, buses, special vehicles (Iveco), agricultural and construction equipment (Case and New Holland brand families), in addition to engines and transmissions for those vehicles and engines for marine applications (FPT Industrial).
