Teva in Germany
Every day, our 2,500 employees work to simplify access to medicines and restore a sense of independence to patients. By responding with all our strength to the unmet needs of our patients and enabling them to live a better, healthier life. We offer you a wide range of treatment options. These include innovative medicines, generics and over-the-counter medicines. At the Germany headquarters in Ulm, 2 million medicine packages leave our logistics center daily and are distributed throughout Europe. This quantity is also evident in the German health care market: Every eighth prescription that is issued in medical practices bears the name of one of our medicines. Both our generics business and the over-the-counter medicines sector are characterized by Germany’s best-known drug brand ratiopharm. Of the over-the-counter medicines, no other brand of medication is more likely to pass through the pharmacy counter than one of our brand ratiopharm. The focus of our innovative medicines is on diseases that interfere with people’s lives, such as multiple sclerosis, migraine and cancer.
Biopharmaceuticals are the future
Since 2004, we have also been producing biotechnological medicines at our site in Ulm. A second, state-of-the-art biotech facility is currently being built there, with which the German site will become the biotech hub of the entire Group. For us as an employer and Ulm as a region, the project means up to 300 new jobs. At the new facility, we will produce monoclonal antibodies – one of the most advanced biotechnological agents – for a variety of diseases. Also our new monoclonal antibody for the specific prophylaxis of migraine. Our conventional pharmaceutical production facilities in Ulm and Blaubeuren / Weiler are characterized by a high level of specialization and technology. At the site in Blaubeuren/Weiler we also have the largest production facility for the manufacture of preservative-free nasal sprays in Europe. It is important to us to give something back to our environment and society. Regenerative energy and the efficient use of resources are an integral part of our environmental management, which has been practiced for over two decades. Back in 1996, we were the first German pharmaceutical manufacturer to become an environmental pioneer with the award of the European environmental certificate EMAS.
