Regionalverband Donau-Iller – an alliance for a strong region The Regionalverband Donau-Iller is a corporation under public law and responsible for regional planning in the cross-border region of Donau-Iller. It was formed in 1973 by a state treaty between Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. On the basis of this state treaty, the association takes on the spatial planning tasks in the areas of settlement, environment, transport and economy on a regional level with the aim of successful regional development. The central element is the regional plan, which integrates the various departments into an overall regional planning concept. It is both a plan of action and a plan of action and defines the goals and principles of spatial planning. These stipulations in the regional plan must be taken into account in all projects. The regional plan is designed for a time horizon of around 15 years. In addition, the regional association initiates and pursues projects with a long-term or decade-long scope in order to continuously develop and increase the infrastructure, economic development and the quality of life in the Danube-Iller region. The most important organs of the Danube-Iller regional association are the association assembly, the planning committee and the association chairman. The business is run by the association director. The association has its office in Ulm.
