The town of Blaustein with almost 17,000 inhabitants is framed by the Blautal, the Kleiner Lautertal and the Alb plateau west of Ulm.

Blaustein consists of the districts Arnegg, Bermaringen, Dietingen, Ehrenstein, Herrlingen, Klingenstein, Lautern, Markbronn, Weidach and Wippingen.

Much is being done in the further development of childcare offers in day-care centers and schools. All-day care, youth support programs, school social work and many holiday offers support families in balancing work and family. The approximately 100 clubs ensure active club life and are the main pillars of social and cultural life in Blaustein.

Over 320,000 visitors come to the “Bad Blau” leisure pool every year. The Neolithic “Stone Age Village Ehrenstein” is part of the UNESCO World Heritage “Prehistoric pile dwellings around the Alps” The Art Nouveau building “Villa Lindenhof” is to develop into a cultural center in the coming years, which will already house the museum “Lifelines-Historical Personalities in Herrlingen ”includes.
